Board & Train

Every Board & Train program includes an individualized training plan tailored to your dog's needs and goals. Throughout their stay, you'll receive professional training, regular progress updates, and a transition session to help you confidently continue their training at home.

Before your dog's stay begins, we'll provide everything you need to prepare for a smooth drop-off. We'll review what to bring, feeding and medication instructions, vaccination requirements, and any additional information specific to your dog's program.

Your dog will live in a structured home environment where training is incorporated into daily life. Each day is tailored to their individual goals and includes a balance of training, exercise, enrichment, rest, and real-world experiences designed to build reliable, lasting skills.

Before your dog returns home, we'll schedule a transition session to review their progress and demonstrate the skills they've learned. You'll receive guidance, homework, and recommendations to help maintain consistency and continue building on their success.

Will my dog forget me?

No. Dogs do not forget their owners during a Board & Train program. While they build a relationship with us during their stay, their bond with you remains intact. Before your dog goes home, we'll show you how to maintain the training and strengthen your relationship together.

How often will I receive updates?

You'll receive regular updates throughout your dog's stay so you can follow their progress, celebrate milestones, and see what they're learning.

Can I visit my dog during the program?

To help your dog settle into their routine and stay focused on their training, we generally do not schedule visits during shorter Board & Train stays. However, we understand that every dog and owner is different. We are happy to welcome you for a pre-stay visit to meet, discuss your dog's needs, and help everyone feel comfortable before the program begins.

For extended stays, we can coordinate a time to meet, review your dog's progress, and discuss any updates or adjustments to their training plan.

You'll also receive regular updates and photos throughout your dog's stay so you can follow their progress.

What should I bring?

We'll provide you with a checklist before your dog's arrival. Typically, this includes their food, any medications or supplements, and any other items we've requested for their individual program.

What training methods do you use?

Our training focuses on clear communication, consistency, and building reliable behaviours through structured learning. Every training plan is tailored to the individual dog, their goals, and what will best support their progress.

Depending on the dog, their training needs, and the program selected, we may incorporate tools such as slip leads, prong collars, or e-collars when appropriate. Any training tools used will always be discussed with you beforehand, including why they may be recommended and how they will be used effectively and responsibly.

Will my dog be around other dogs?

Your dog's interactions with other dogs will depend on their individual training plan, temperament, and comfort level. We have a resident dog who may be gradually introduced when appropriate, but interactions are never forced and are always supervised.

Dogs are not left loose together or expected to interact freely. Any introductions or shared spaces are carefully managed with safety, structure, and your dog's individual needs in mind.

What happens after my dog goes home?

Every Board & Train program includes a transition session to help you maintain your dog's training, continue practicing at home, and build on the progress they've made.

Select packages also include a complimentary follow-up session for additional guidance, troubleshooting, and support as you continue your dog's training journey.

Is Board & Train a permanent solution?

A Board & Train provides a strong foundation, but long-term success depends on consistency once your dog returns home. We'll give you the tools and guidance needed to maintain and continue your dog's progress.
