Two Approaches.
One Goal.
A Better Life Together.
Every dog is different, and the right training approach can make all the difference. Whether you're looking for an immersive training experience or hands-on coaching, we'll help you find the right path forward.
FIND THE RIGHT PROGRAM
The Difference Is More Than Where Training Happens.
Both Board & Train and Private Training are designed to improve communication, develop reliable behaviours, and make everyday life with your dog easier.
The biggest difference comes down to how the training happens, how much time is dedicated to it, and the role you'll play throughout the process.
Which Approach Is Right for You?
Both options provide personalized training, but the experience and level of involvement are quite different.
Board & Train
A comprehensive, home-based training experience where your dog lives and learns with us. We take the lead on building the foundation through consistent daily training, structure, and real-world practice.
- Daily, structured professional training
- Consistent practice throughout the day
- Skills developed in real-life environments
- Progress updates throughout the program
- Personalized go-home training session
- Continued support
Private Training
Personalized one-on-one coaching where you work directly with your dog. We guide you through the training process, teaching you the skills and techniques needed to create lasting change.
- Individual one-on-one training sessions
- Direct coaching and demonstrations
- Training tailored to your goals
- Practical exercises to complete at home
- Owner-led practice between appointments
- Guidance as your dog progresses
Understanding the Difference
Here's how the two training approaches compare when it comes to time, consistency, and owner involvement.
More Training.
More Consistency.
More Support.
Imagine having a professional dedicate their time to your dog's development every day, rather than trying to fit training into an already busy schedule.
That's the advantage of Board & Train. Your dog becomes part of our daily routine, where learning doesn't stop when a one-hour appointment ends.
Through structured routines, consistent communication, and repeated practice, we work on developing behaviours that carry over into everyday life.
- Consistent training rather than once-a-week practice
- Professional guidance throughout the day
- Structured routines and real-world application
- More opportunities to reinforce new skills
- A clear plan for continuing at home
How Involved Do You Want to Be?
This is one of the biggest differences between the two approaches. Neither option removes the importance of owner involvement, but the responsibility during the initial training process is very different.
We Build the Foundation. You Learn to Maintain It.
During your dog's stay, we take care of the daily training, repetition, structure, and skill development. You don't need to be responsible for fitting every training exercise into your daily routine.
You'll receive progress updates and have the opportunity to see what your dog is learning. When the program is complete, we'll walk you through the training system, demonstrate the skills, and teach you how to continue building on that progress.
Your role is to understand the training, follow through with the recommendations, and maintain consistency once your dog is home.
You Do the Work. We Guide You Through It.
Private Training requires a greater ongoing commitment from you as the owner. You're the one working directly with your dog and implementing what you've learned.
During each appointment, we'll demonstrate techniques, work through exercises together, and help you understand how to communicate with your dog.
Between appointments, you'll be responsible for practicing the exercises, managing your dog's environment, reinforcing behaviours, and building consistency in your everyday routine.
Which One Makes More Sense for You?
Board & Train May Be Right for You If...
You want a more comprehensive training experience with dedicated professional involvement.
You're struggling to find the time or consistency needed to train your dog independently.
You want your dog to benefit from daily structured training, repetition, and professional guidance.
You value having a trainer establish the foundation and then teach you how to maintain it.
Private Training May Be Right for You If...
You enjoy being directly involved in your dog's learning process.
You have the time and motivation to practice consistently between appointments.
You want to learn training techniques and develop your own handling skills along the way.
You prefer a gradual, collaborative approach where you work through challenges together with your dog.
Training Doesn't End When the Program Does.
Regardless of which approach you choose, lasting results depend on consistency beyond the training program. Board & Train gives your dog an opportunity to develop skills through dedicated professional training, but maintaining those skills at home is still your responsibility. Private Training gives you the opportunity to develop those skills together from the beginning. Both require follow-through, communication, and continued practice.
